Trafficking

An Amnesty International volunteer in Germany (it seems) highlighting the trafficking of humans in the sex trade.

We got this email yesterday:

Subject: possible raid

Dear All We are hopeful of doing a raid in XXXXX today to rescue a number of minor girls trapped in prostitution as well as catch those involved in the trafficking. We would value your prayer for the success of this.

The raid in question was postponed till today - and may even be in operation as I write this. Young girls sold into prostitution. Used as sexual animals. Hired out and farmed for sex. Its no fantasy - its the dirty, dreary reality of so many girls who live on the streets tonight.

Here are some of the excellent organisations who are doing something about Trafficking and Rehabilitation - both preventing girls from entering the trade, working to rescue those already in, helping to prosecute those who are profiting from the trade, and rehabilitating the girls after they have been 'freed' (many are put into 'remand homes' which at times hardly distinguishable from jails).

Pray for these heroes. And pray that every church will welcome Rahabs into our midst. And honour and bless these ladies as they take on a new life and are transformed into agents of blessing.
