It pays to have friends in high places. On the right - my friend Richard Payne - now doing a PhD at Yale. On the left the new POTUS.Richard was part of the Obama campaign. As were many others of his generation. Fascinating how close we are to the seat of power. At the same time - how ephemeral all of it is.
